Indian MP Prajwal Revana, accused in a sex scandal, was arrested by the police as soon as he returned home. Several women have accused him of sexual harassment. He left India on April 27th and was arrested upon arriving in Bangalore from Germany on Friday morning. Revana has denied all the allegations. The news was reported by BBC Online. Prajwal Revana, 33, is a Janata Dal MP and a close ally of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is contesting from the Hassan constituency in Karnataka. Shortly before the start of voting in Hassan, numerous videos depicting the abuse of women circulated in Karnataka, sparking intense anger.

He did not comment on the videos, but an official in his office claimed they were manipulated. He left the country immediately after the voting in his constituency concluded. So far, three cases of sexual harassment have been filed against him. A special police team, directed by Karnataka Chief Minister K Siddaramaiah, is investigating the case. On May 18, the special court issued an arrest warrant for Revana following a request by the Special Investigation Team. Days before his arrest, Revana applied for anticipatory bail, but the court denied it on Thursday. On May 27, after weeks of being out of the country, Revana released a video stating that he would appear in court by Friday. His grandfather, former Indian Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, urged him to return to India to face the investigation, prompting him to release the video.
