In 2006, adult film star Stormy Daniels claimed that Donald Trump told her that the only way to escape the 'trailer park' was to have sex with him. Nearly two decades later, she testified in court against Trump as the government's key witness. This case marked the first time Trump was found guilty of a criminal offense as a former US president.
On Thursday, a New York District Court judge found the 77-year-old Trump guilty of making false declarations in business documents. The false declarations pertained to a $130,000 payment made to Stormy Daniels through Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, to keep her from disclosing their alleged sexual relationship prior to the 2016 presidential election. Trump concealed this payment in his business records.
Daniels left the adult film industry at one point, describing this period as the best time of his life. During this hiatus, he wrote and directed many successful films and spent his leisure time riding horses and raising his daughter.
However, in 2018, the Wall Street Journal published a report about him that, according to Daniels, turned his life "chaotic" and "removed his cover." This report made Daniels' meeting with Trump public for the first time.
